The Keeper

The player character, a man pulled into this world. Freed from the Inquisition Dungeon at the start, he poses as an Inquisitor, runs the graveyard at the abandoned Inquisition Base and works to rebuild the magic portal.

Story role (spoilers)
Soul explains that the Old God tore his soul in half; the other half, Keeper One, wrecked the world and broke the portal, and Dig calls the player 'Keeper Two'. At the end the Keeper chooses Go (return home with Keeper One and his wife) or Stay (remain with his new friends). Go rolls the credits and returns to the main menu without saving, so loading takes you back to your last wake-up. Stay rolls the credits and lets you keep playing, with no new content.
