Release date and the four-hour delay
Graveyard Keeper 2 launched worldwide on September 22, 2026, on PC and every console family on the same day. The unlock was set for 13:00 UTC, but at 11:54 UTC Lazy Bear announced a delay of “a few hours” for technical reasons. The doors of the morgue finally opened at 17:00 UTC on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store and GOG, and one minute later on Steam. The Epic Games Store page only went live the next day, with no official explanation.

Every platform, price and patch level
Every version costs $24.99. What changes from one shop to the next is the pre-order colour you might have earned, how fast patches arrive, and a few platform extras.
| Platform | Price | Pre-order outfit | Version on October 5 | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steam (Windows) | $24.99 / €24.99 / £22.49 | Light blue | 1.008 | 38 achievements, Steam Cloud, Workshop, trading cards, Family Sharing |
| GOG (Windows) | $24.99 | None | 1.007 | DRM-free, no Galaxy cloud saves |
| Epic Games Store (Windows) | $24.99 | None | Not confirmed | Went live September 23 |
| PS5 and PS4 | $24.99 for both | Dark blue | PS5 1.007, PS4 older | One purchase covers both, 39 trophies on PS5 |
| Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One | $24.99 for both | Green | 1.007 | Optimized for Series X|S, 38 achievements, not on Game Pass |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | $24.99 | Red | Older than 1.007 | Separate product, about 1.2 GB |
| Nintendo Switch | $24.99 | Red | Older than 1.007 | Separate product, about 1.1 GB, slowdowns in busy scenes in a launch review |
So far Steam has received every update first. Update 1.007 reached PS5, Xbox and GOG on October 1, three days after Steam, and PS4, Switch and Switch 2 were promised it the week of October 5. Until then, several fixes (Crematorium, Study Table, iron deliveries, the garden well crash, chest stack loss) are still missing there. The patch notes and known issues pages track what your platform has.
PC: Steam, GOG or Epic
Steam is the main PC release and the one to pick if you want fixes first: 1.008 landed there on October 2 and, as of October 5, nowhere else. It runs on Windows 10 64-bit or newer only, supports controllers fully (DualShock and DualSense included), syncs saves through Steam Cloud (1 GB quota), and has 38 achievements. Only 4.3% of Steam players had reached The End of the Journey by October 5, so the graveyard has plenty of room. Steam players also got the in-game bug reporter added in 1.006 and a Workshop for mods.
GOG sells the DRM-free version, with a standalone installer of about 1.19 GB. Two catches: GOG Galaxy does not sync saves to the cloud, and patches arrive after Steam (still 1.007 on October 5). Back up your save folder by hand; the known issues page lists where it lives. GOG never had a pre-order period, so it never had the bonus either.
Epic Games Store went live a day late, on September 23 at 19:10 UTC, at the same $24.99. It had no pre-order bonus, and its current version number has not been confirmed.
Hardware needs rose shortly before launch. Check the system requirements before buying for an older PC.
PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4
A single PlayStation Store product covers both consoles, so one purchase works on PS4 and PS5. The PS5 version supports DualSense vibration and can be streamed to a PS5 or PS Portal through PS Plus Premium. The PS5 version has 39 trophies (1 platinum, 4 gold, 9 silver, 25 bronze), with the platinum Professional Keeper waiting for the very patient. PS4 is the laggard: its pre-orders were still closed on September 2, a week after they opened elsewhere, and it was still waiting for 1.007 on October 5.
Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
One Microsoft Store product covers Series X|S and Xbox One, and it is optimized for Series X|S. The install takes up to about 2.15 GB, and the 38 achievements are worth 1,000 Gamerscore. It is not an Xbox Play Anywhere title, so an Xbox copy does not unlock the PC version.
Not available: Mac, Linux and mobile
There is no macOS build, no native Linux build and no mobile version. Linux players can run the Windows version through Proton, which is exactly how the Steam Deck plays it. GeForce NOW support has not been confirmed.

Is Graveyard Keeper 2 on Game Pass?
No. Graveyard Keeper 2 is not part of Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, and neither Lazy Bear nor tinyBuild has announced a deal. The Microsoft Store record lists no subscription inclusion at all.
What Game Pass does give you is cloud access: members on Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate can stream the game through Xbox Cloud Gaming, but only once they own it. And since there is no Play Anywhere support, buying on Xbox does not give you the Windows version. If you want the game on both, that is two purchases.
Switch or Switch 2: which one to buy
The two Nintendo versions are separate products on the eShop, released the same day at the same price. The Switch 2 listing is not a paid upgrade of the Switch version.
| Detail | Nintendo Switch | Nintendo Switch 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $24.99 | $24.99 / €24.99 |
| Download size | About 1.1 GB | About 1.2 GB |
| Performance (one launch review) | Slows down and gets choppy in busy scenes | Runs smoothly |
| Play modes | TV, tabletop, handheld | TV, tabletop, handheld |
| Cloud saves | Save Data Cloud | Save Data Cloud |
| Pre-order bonus | Red outfit and Sauna | Red outfit and Sauna |
| Patch level on October 5 | Waiting for 1.007 | Waiting for 1.007 |
Verdict: if you own a Switch 2, buy the Switch 2 version. A launch review that compared both found the original Switch version struggling in crowded scenes while the Switch 2 one stayed smooth, and the price is identical. Neither Lazy Bear nor Nintendo has published frame-rate or resolution targets. Another launch review says a save from one Nintendo version can be imported into the other, but there is no official word on it, so do not plan a migration around it.
The Nintendo listing shows 10 text languages: Turkish, available on the other platforms, is not among them.
Steam Deck: Verified, but cap it
Valve rates Graveyard Keeper 2 Steam Deck Verified: it passed all four checks in a test on launch day, September 22. The Steam Machine rating is Verified too. It runs on Valve’s stable Proton build, since there is no native Linux version.
Verified is a compatibility badge, not a promise of silky frames: uncapped, outdoor areas dropped to the mid-30s in hands-on testing of a pre-release build. The tested profile (30 FPS cap, Low preset, about 4 hours of battery) and the full settings menu are in the system requirements.
One edition, no DLC
There is exactly one product: the base game. No deluxe, supporter or physical edition has been announced, no soundtrack is sold on Steam or GOG, and no paid DLC has been announced as of October 5, 2026. It is a one-time purchase with no microtransactions, and the game is single-player only. The extras worth knowing about are the pre-order bonus and a Steam bundle, both below.
The pre-order bonus: Sauna and outfit
Pre-orders opened on August 26, 2026 (on PS4 they were still closed on September 2), at 20% off on every platform that took them ($19.99 instead of $24.99). PlayStation Plus members got a further 20%, landing at $15.99. Pre-ordering on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store or the Nintendo eShop added a free bonus: the Sauna building and an outfit whose colour depends on the store. GOG and the Epic Games Store never offered it.
The bonus was tied to the pre-order. It is not sold separately, and tinyBuild support says it cannot grant it on request. If you bought after launch, there is no official way to get the Sauna; read the bug below before feeling too sorry about it.
Outfit colour by store
| Store | Outfit colour |
|---|---|
| Steam | Light blue |
| Xbox | Green |
| PlayStation | Dark blue |
| Nintendo (Switch and Switch 2) | Red |
How to wear the pre-order outfit
The outfit does not go on by itself. To put it on:
- Research Suit Up! in the Building tree. It costs 15 red points and sits behind The Concept of Wood and Woodworking I, so the whole path is 27 red and 2 green points from a fresh tree. Both prerequisites belong in any sensible opening anyway; the tech priorities page covers that early research order.
- Build the Dresser with mirror from the build desk in your Home.
- Interact with the Dresser and pick the outfit.
The outfit appears to be the item listed in game as Special Clothes; that name is not officially confirmed.
Where to find the Sauna
The Sauna stands west of your house, across the Vineyard Bridge, at the Inquisition Base. The bridge starts broken. Repair it with a hammer, Building mastery 2 and 4 Wooden Plank, 1 Polished Bronze and 4 Piece of stone, then walk over. The repair itself needs no technology, but Polished Bronze does: Bronze Polishing in the Metallurgy tree. Need the bronze? The crafting calculator breaks it down. Full details on the Sauna page.
Steamed Up and the food energy bug
A visit gives the Steamed Up buff: for 60 in-game minutes, cooked dishes and staples such as Cheese and Jug of Milk restore 10% more energy. Players report that when it expires, food energy stays 10% below normal, and no patch up to 1.008 mentions a fix. The known issues guide has the accounts and the only sure cure, a save from before your first visit.
Unless you enjoy a lasting tax on every meal, leave the Sauna alone until a patch fixes it. If you try it anyway, sleep first and copy your save folder. The energy and insanity page explains why 10% of every meal matters.
Bonus missing from your save
At launch, the Sauna and outfit did not show up in saves started before release or imported from the demo. On Steam, a hotfix on September 22 at 21:15 UTC fixed it. On consoles, make sure the pre-order DLC is downloaded and installed, then re-import the demo save and reload. Support cannot add the content by hand.
The Grave Deal: Graveyard Keeper 1 and 2 bundle
The Grave Deal is a Steam bundle of Graveyard Keeper and Graveyard Keeper 2. It takes an extra 20% off the combined price, and that discount stacks on top of any sale already running on the first game.
| Situation | Graveyard Keeper | Graveyard Keeper 2 | Bundle price |
|---|---|---|---|
| No sale running | $19.99 | $24.99 | $35.98 (instead of $44.98) |
| October 5, 2026 (first game 75% off) | $4.99 | $24.99 | $23.98 |
On October 5 the bundle saved $6 over buying both separately at that day’s prices. If you are new to the series and want the first game anyway, buy through the bundle while the first game is on sale. The what’s new page explains how much the sequel changes, if you are wondering whether the first one is homework.
Languages and voice acting
The game ships 11 languages for text and subtitles. Only English has voice acting.
| Language | Text and subtitles | Voice acting |
|---|---|---|
| English | Yes | Yes |
| French | Yes | No |
| German | Yes | No |
| Spanish (Spain) | Yes | No |
| Japanese | Yes | No |
| Korean | Yes | No |
| Polish | Yes | No |
| Portuguese (Brazil) | Yes | No |
| Russian | Yes | No |
| Simplified Chinese | Yes | No |
| Turkish | Yes (not on the Nintendo listing) | No |
Turkish was added between April and June 2026. Traditional Chinese is not supported, even though some listings show it. Story scenes and most dialogue are voiced in English, and a setting switches back to the classic mumbling voices if you prefer the old charm. Subtitles are always on, and there are four volume sliders: master, music, effects and speech.
What happened to the demo
The free demo ran from September 14, 2026, at 14:00 UTC on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch 2, and was pulled when the full game launched: the Steam, PlayStation and Nintendo demo listings are gone. Its save carries into the full game; on Steam the copy is meant to happen automatically, with a manual fallback described on the known issues page. Since update 1.006, milestones reached in the demo also unlock the matching Steam achievements. Starting fresh instead? The beginner guide picks up from your first morning.
Common mistakes
- Buying the Switch version for a Switch 2. They are separate products at the same price, and the Switch 2 version ran better in a launch review that compared both. Check the console name on the eShop page before paying.
- Expecting Game Pass or a free PC copy on Xbox. The game is not on Game Pass, cloud play needs a purchase, and there is no Play Anywhere.
- Visiting the Sauna without a safe save. The Steamed Up buff can leave a lasting 10% cut to food energy, and the only sure fix is a save from before your first visit.
- Hoping for the pre-order bonus on GOG or Epic, or after launch. It was never offered there, and it cannot be bought or granted now.
- Assuming consoles have the latest fixes. Steam patches land first; PS4, Switch and Switch 2 were still waiting for 1.007 on October 5. Read the known issues before risky story steps.
- Trusting GOG to keep your saves safe. Galaxy does not sync them to the cloud. Copy the save folder somewhere else from time to time.
- Paying full price for the bundle. The Grave Deal stacks with sales on the first game, so the gap between the full bundle price and a good day was $12 on October 5.

FAQ
Is Graveyard Keeper 2 on Xbox Game Pass?
No. It is not included in Game Pass or PC Game Pass, and no deal has been announced. Game Pass Essential, Premium and Ultimate members can stream it through Xbox Cloud Gaming, but only after buying the game.
Is Graveyard Keeper 2 worth $24.99?
Mostly yes. On October 5 Steam showed 75.8% positive from 8,237 reviews (Mostly Positive), and the first logged story runs with side content took about 40 hours, roughly 60 cents an hour. It is one edition, single-player, with no microtransactions. If the mid-game grind worries you, wait for the roadmap changes.
Can I still get the Sauna and the pre-order outfit?
No. The bonus came with pre-orders placed on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or the Nintendo eShop before launch. It is not sold separately, and support cannot add it to an account after the fact.
Should I buy Graveyard Keeper 2 on Switch or Switch 2?
If you own a Switch 2, buy the Switch 2 version. Both cost $24.99 and are separate purchases, and a launch review that compared them found the original Switch version slowing down in busy scenes while the Switch 2 version ran smoothly.
How much does Graveyard Keeper 2 cost?
$24.99 or €24.99 on every platform, and £22.49 on Steam in the UK. There is only one edition and no paid DLC has been announced. The Steam bundle The Grave Deal adds the first game with an extra 20% off.
